Hepatocellular Carcinoma is a liver cancer strongly associated with hepatitis B

Hepatitis B carriers are highly recommended to have alpha-fetal protein level checked every six months.

 

Level of Alpha-fetal Protein Clinical Meaning
< 5 ng/ml Healthy
5 to 20 ng/ml Conditional Healthy
> 20 ng/ml Suggest Cirrhosis or HCC
> 100 ng/ml Optical Analysis HCC
> 400 ng/ml Recommended HCC

 

 

Two devices are available for alpha-fetal protein test:

The critical cut-off of 5/20 ng/ml (device A) and 100/400 ng/ml (device B).

Two devices, two drops of blood and in 10 minutes, you will get a conclusion.
